Steve McCurry is one of the most iconic photographer in the world, recognized for his captivating and poignant images that document the human condition across the globe. Born in Philadelphia, McCurry embarked on a photography career after studying cinematography and graduating from Pennsylvania State University. He gained international acclaim for his iconic photograph βAfghan Girl,β which graced the cover of National Geographic magazine in 1985, becoming one of the most recognized images in the world. McCurryβs extensive body of work spans decades and continents, encompassing themes of conflict, culture, and everyday life. With a keen eye for composition and a deep empathy for his subjects, he has produced a remarkable portfolio that transcends cultural boundaries. McCurryβs numerous awards include the Robert Capa Gold Medal and the National Press Photographers Associationβs Magazine Photographer of the Year award.
